ACEC is the voice of the Canadian private sector engineering companies — a $13.5 billion a year industry which generates 30% of its revenues from international work.

Founded in 1925, ACEC is the national association of consulting firms that provide engineering and other technology-based intellectual services to the built and natural environment. Member companies offer professional engineering services world wide to private sector and government clients. The ACEC’s mission is to promote and safeguard the business and professional interests of the Canadian consulting engineering industry in Canada and abroad.

The Association’s membership consists of approximately 600 independent consulting engineering firms and 11 provincial and territorial member organizations. Members range in size from single-person operations to multinational companies, collectively offering 35 types of services in 273 specializations within 14 major economic sectors.

Merit Contractors Association

Representing the voice of open shop construction in Alberta, Merit Contractors Association was founded in 1985. Starting with 15 members, Merit has grown to over 1,300 members including most of Alberta’s large generals and trade contractors. The association focuses on the human resource needs of contractors, offering employee benefits, training, retirement programs, a recruitment website and more.

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, established in 1957, is a voluntary national association representing more than 3,200 architects, faculty and graduates of accredited Canadian Schools of Architecture from every region of the country. RAIC is the voice of architecture and its practice in Canada. It provides the national framework for the development and recognition of architectural excellence. RAIC’s mandate is to play a more expansive national role through a tangible regional presence to represent all registered architects in Canada.
